Achievements

With creativity and passion, the 14-year old – ISO 9001:2008 SAC, OHSAS 18001:2007, BizSAFE STAR and UKAS 9001:2008 certified Right Tech, has successfully ridden on the backs of four recessions. To be where it is now, since founded in September 1997. “Our latest on-going project at NIE is to cover three basket ball courts with a cable net structure,” said Mr Stanley Tan. He is one of the two Founders/Directors, handling Project Development in the company which remains a leader in its field - a specialist constructing and installing lightweight tensioned membrane structures. Like canopies; protective covers; walkway coverings; cable-supported fabric; and fabric structures. While diversifying into HDB upgrading and A & A works in early 1998 - following the first recession, on obtaining its first contract worth $300,000.

Growing some 20% yearly with its 15 staff and engineers, and an equal number of foreign workers and its own factory in Malaysia for fabricating its tensile products before installing them. Or supplying them directly to Vietnam and Kuwait for competitors undertaking projects. Going overseas to Mynmar building shopping malls and swimming pools, and undertaking a small project in Malaysia. “Progressing even during the four recessions which made us more focused, stronger, wiser, wary. And more determined to succeed. “We even brainstormed into a unique, retractable Cantilever Umbrella for multi-purpose uses,” said Ms Helen Soh, his partner, into marketing and administration.

Adding, “One of our best years was during the fourth recession in 2009 when we experienced very high growth.” Then, Right Tech handled two prestigious projects worth some $5m. One was a $3m one at the Singapore Island Country Club for covering 3,000 sq m of three tennis courts. The other required 3,300 sq m of coverage around the queue area and carousel at the Resorts World Sentosa. “We now work closely with the top ten developers and architects building 70% of all local, construction-related projects,” she said. At places like Clarke Quay, Jurong Bird Park, Polys, Bishan Park, HDB walkways, condominiums and commercial buildings. And moving increasingly into communal parks, upgrading of private estates and lift upgrading.

Reasons for Success

“Through inspiration, passion and creativity – not focusing on money - every project represents a challenge to do better. Seeing a smile on my customers’ faces is my greatest satisfaction, making it my goal to turn your vision into reality,” said Stanley, adding,“Through our projects, we help entrepreneurs to establish a strong and confident business presence and to increase their credibility.”

As a proud pioneer in the lightweight structure industry, the company supplies top quality fabrication with PVC, PTFE/Glass, ePTFE and ETFE material with superior warranty. And provides innovative designs by in-house engineers, architects and draftsmen while handling multi-faceted specifications and delivering high architectural quality finishing in complex steelwork with intricate detailing on membrane surfaces. “We also maintain the entire project starting from concept planning to construction and maintenance through innovative design approaches and precision engineering. You dream it, we build it,” said Stanley.

Plans

“We are now focusing on projects involving the whole turnkey like building works; estate upgrading,” said Helen, adding, “While open to new and a higher category of expansionist ventures, both locally and in Asia-pacific. With discussions now on-going since last year, for entering into joint ventures in India and Pakistan in both our niche and general building areas,” said Stanley. Arising from Right Tech's participation in the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) Exhibition last March.” Creating more opportunities for partnerships with agencies in Asia-Pacific,” he said.
